Follow up Scripts!

This time of year we do a lot of events and have lots of shows! Follow up is key and you MUST follow up on the phone! Most people don't because of fear of what to say. Here is a basic script I follow when I make calls:

Have to leave a Message?

Hi ____________________, this is ____________ with Jamberry Nails from the __________________________
I just wanted to follow up with you because I know you were thinking about hosting your own Jamberry party to earn free and discounted wraps. I JUST saw the September 1 release and OH MY GOODNESS are the new wraps AMAZING! I have a couple of dates left in September and a few in October, so get back with me quickly and let me know what day of the week is best for you so I can get you on my schedule!
My number is ____________________.
Looking forward to talking with you soon!

Did they answer and you get to have an actual conversation?
Hi ____________________, this is _____________ with Jamberry Nails from the __________________________. Do you have a quick minute to chat?
I just wanted to follow up with you because I know you were thinking about hosting your own Jamberry party to earn free and discounted wraps. I JUST saw the September 1 release and OH MY GOODNESS are the new wraps AMAZING! I have a couple of dates left in September and a few in October. I wanted to touch base and see what day of the week is best for you so I can get you on my schedule! Do you prefer weekends or during the week?

How to Schedule Your Facebook Posts

Now, we all know how important having a great Facebook fan page can be for your business.  You can direct your customers to "Like" you so they can be kept up to date on your specials, exclusive offers, and so much more!  However, the downfall of many (or at least me) is that we can forget to post something on our page at least once a day.  Even if you post an inspiring quote or a funny cartoon (nothing political or sexual, mind you), it keeps people seeing that you are posting and that keeps them interested.
Recently, I logged into my Facebook fan page for the first time in "I don't know" (Note:  This points out my major problem, I can always think of something to promote, but I often forget to do it!) and I noticed a new feature - Scheduling!  I leapt for joy.  Now I can make my page work for me!
The ability to schedule your posts is going to change your page if you actually do it.  A little research tells me that posts can be scheduled up to 6 months in advance, but you don't want to be doing this.  Jamberry changes too often to do more than 2-3 months without checking in and adding things.  Even then, you should expect a few hours if you're going to schedule that many posts!  This is a great way to keep customers aware of products, even while you take a holiday break!  So, here's what you're going to do the next time you have a couple of hours.  It doesn't take a ton of concentration, you could even watch a movie!
  1.  Navigate to your Facebook fan page.  Note:  This is different than your regular Facebook profile.  If need be, I'll post a tutorial on how to create your own page sometime in the future.

  2. Create the post you intend.  I put a tip for you in the box.  No matter what you're putting up, whether it has to do with Jamberry or not, ALWAYS give your client your website.  That way, they always have a link to it on their timeline somewhere.
  3. After you've created your post, click the clock in the lower left-hand corner.
  4. A new line will appear with scheduling options!
  5. Click the date and a calendar will pop up to help you schedule your post for someday in the future.
  6. Once you've selected your date, you can specify a time for the post to go out.  This can be determined at 5 minute intervals.  Two things to keep in mind:
The time you choose is your own time zone.
If you don't schedule a time, it will automatically schedule as the same time you create the post on the date you chose.  For example, if you're typing your post at 10:45 AM and schedule it for Christmas day without a time.  It will post at 11:00 AM on December 25.

  7. Notice above that, if I type "5" into the box, Facebook assumes that I'm referring to 5 PM instead of 5 AM.  Good guess on Facebook's part, unless you have a ton of friends who don't sleep.  If you want to change whether the post goes out in the morning, keep typing and, eventually, you'll be allowed to select between AM and PM.

  8. Now that you've created and scheduled your post, all that's left is to Schedule it!

  9. A neat little box will come up telling you that you have successfully scheduled your post and that you can find it any time in your Activity Log.  Your Activity Log is available from this notification or at the top of your page under "Edit."
  10. When you look in the activity log, you'll see all of the posts you've scheduled and the last few you've actually posted. In the upper-right hand corner of each post, you'll find a carrot.  I drew it in because I could not for the life of me get it to actually appear in a screen shot.
  11. Clicking on that carrot will give you options for that post such as changing the date and time, publishing right now, or deleting the post all together.

Theme Party Ideas

One issue with selling a product that basically does the same thing is that some guests might not be ready to book "the same party" over and over again.  If you're afraid that might be the case, you might consider throwing "theme parties" with fun gimmicks or discounts (I recommend 10% with the purchase of a Buy 3 Get 1 FREE set).  Here are a few that might help you fill your calendar:

  • Ice Cream "Sundays" - Bring one of those 5 gallon buckets of ice cream and have each guest bring her favourite topping.  All your hostess has to have is bowls!  After your initial demonstration, have your guests make their own ice cream sundae.  Have a vote and give a prize for the best sundae.  Point out how long they would have had to wait to dip their ice cream if they painted their nails!
  • Margarita Mondays - If you need some additional bookings during the week, come up with a theme for each day!  You bring the mix and salt, the hostess provides tequila and glasses.  Everyone can sip margaritas while they try their nails.  Suggest a drink limit to your hostess to prevent drunk buyers' remorse.
  • Nail Polish Graveyard - This is one I learned in Mary Kay.  Have your guests bring an old nail polish to put in your "graveyard" [read trash can].  They have to say why they're getting rid of it, and you can provide a reason why Jamberry shields are better.  Offer a discount on 1 product for each they throw away (3 nail polishes = 3 discounted wraps).
  • Pedi Party - Have your guests come ready to try wraps on their toes.  Point out they don't need to wear sandals!
Another fun idea is to visit this fun site to discover what little known holidays are coming up.  I thumbed through it, and here are some ideas I came up with.  Post yours in the comments below!

January
  • January 2 is Personal Trainer Day - Have each guest bring their trainer (if they have one).  Discount Fitness wraps (Cheerleaders, W.O.D., etc).
  • January 5 is Bird Day - Decorate with all those discount bird ornaments you find right after Christmas.  Discount bird-themed wraps (Early Bird, Peacock, Take Flight, etc.).
  • January 10 is Cut Energy Costs Day - Find some alternative ways to heat the wraps and show them off!
February
  • Romance Party - Have a party by candlelight to help everyone get ready for their Valentine's date.
  • February is Library Lovers Month - Everyone should bring her favourite book!  Discount reading or writing-themed wraps (Alphabet, Newspaper, etc.).
  • February 7 is Bubblegum Day - Bring gum for the guests or have them bring their favourite kind to share.  Figure out a special for the Bubblegum wrap.
March
  • March is Cheerleading Saftey Month - Decorate with pom-poms and show off your Cheerleader wraps!
  • As Easter is in April this year, you can bring Easter Eggs with booking prizes inside them for your centrepiece!
  • March 2 is "Old Stuff" Day - Encourage everyone to wear vintage clothing.  Discount one set of wraps that matches her outfit.
April
  • April 7 is No Housework Day - Really, you don't have to think of anything special.  Just give them a day off of Housework!
  • April 11 is A Day Without Shoes - Have everyone bring an extra pair of shoes to donate to the needy.
May
  • May is Photo Month - Have everyone  bring their favourite digital photo and make custom wraps.  You could also offer a discount on Snapshot for the month.
  • May 17 is Bike to Work Day - Vintage Bicycles is a great promo for this!
June
  • June 5 is Running Day - If you have an active bunch, they could try on their samples and then go for a run.  Running Girl wraps are a great promotion!
  • June 14 is Blood Donor Day - Offer a discount for anyone who can show proof they donated blood that day!
  • June 18 is Sushi Day - Have sushi brought in for hors d'oevres.
  • June 21 is Flip Flop Day - Everyone wears their flip flops.  We have a wrap for that too!
  • June 23 is Pink Day - Everyone should wear pink.  Discount pink wraps!
July
  • July is Ice Cream Month - What a perfect time to have Sundae parties!
  • July 7 is Chocolate Day - Have each guest bring enough of their favourite type of chocolate to share!
August
  • August 4 is Sister's Day - Have every guest bring her sister and pick out one wrap for her!
  • August 4 is also Friendship Day - You can have them bring a friend and a sister!
September
  • September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month - Hold parties to bring in donations for your favourite ovarian cancer foundation.  Donate a portion of every teal wrap's cost to the same.
  • September 8 is Literacy Day - See February's Library Lover's Month, but instead of just a book, bring a book to donate to a literacy programme
  • September 13 is Stand Up to Cancer Day - Pick a cancer and hold parties to earn donations for that cancers' foundation.
  • September 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day - Bring eye patches (get them on sale after Halloween) and hold the party while you talk like a pirate.
  • September 22 is Wife Appreciation Day - Have your guests bring their husbands.
  • September 29 is Heart Day - Hold a party to raise awareness of heart disease and strokes.  Provide lots of red food.
October
  • October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Hold parties to bring in donations for your favourite breast cancer foundation.  Donate a portion of every pink wrap's cost to the same.
  • October 5 is Teachers Day - Have each guest bring her child's favourite teacher (or her favourite teacher if she's still in University.)
  • October 10 is Cake Decorating Day - Have each guest bring cake decorating items.  Bring cupcakes.  Everyone gets to decorate her own cupcake.  Cupcake wraps!!
  • October 18 is Chocolate Cupcake Day - Do the same thing.  You have 2 chances!
  • October 27 is Mother-in-Law Day - Have each guest bring her mother-in-law.
November
  • November is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month - Hold parties to bring in donations for your favourite prostate cancer foundation.  Donate a portion of every moustache wrap's cost to the same.
  • November 11 is Origami Day - [After Remembrance Day/Veteran's Day events] Have guests learn some origami with their new wraps on (you can't do that with fresh nail polish!).
December
  • December 8 is Brownie Day - Bring brownies!
  • December 16 is Chocolate Covered Day - Bring fruit and crackers and melted chocolate for hors d'ouvres.
  • December 27 is Make Paper Snowflakes Day - Bring paper and scissors and have everyone make snowflakes!
So, there's a ton of ideas, and I'm certain you all have plenty more.  Write out your favourite theme party idea in a comment below!

 INTRODUCTION CALLS

Hi, this is___________________with Jamberry Nails.  Have you got a minute?  I am not sure if you know, but I have started with an amazing new company called Jamberry Nails.  Have you heard of it?

Yes

Have you tried them?

How did you hear about Jamberry?

Have you been to a show?

No

Well, Jamberry Nails are vinyl nail shields unlike any other.  They are applied with heat and pressure, last 2-3 weeks on fingers, 4-6 weeks (or longer) on toes, and come in over 250 colors/styles to suit everyone’s taste.  I’d LOVE to have you be one of the first hosts to show Jamberry off to your friends.  Can I talk you into some free sets for hosting?

CUSTOMER CARE CALLS!!

Hi, this is___________________with Jamberry Nails.  Have you got a minute for a quick update?

I haven’t talked with you since __________’s party.  So, this is what I call my “Nakie Nail” call.  I’m checking to be sure your shields have arrived and you are no longer suffering from Nakie Nail.  Have you had a chance to apply your first full set?

(listen and respond appropriately)

I have some great sales and Host specials coming up in the next few months…..

  • would having a get together of your own be something you’d consider in the future?
  • would you be interested in getting free shields just by having me come to your house and show your friends Jamberry Nails?

MAYBE ON DOOR PRIZE SLIP or A MAYBE FROM ANOUTHER SOURCE!!

Hi, this is___________________with Jamberry Nails.  I’m making some courtesy calls tonight and I have your DPS here and I see that you’ve checked maybe to hosting a party.

  • Would you like me to explain how having a show works and hear about my future host specials?
SENT OR TOOK A SAMPLE FOLLOW UP

Hi, this is___________________with Jamberry Nails.  Have you got a minute? I know you received a sample from me last week……what do you think of it?  You may need to offer guidance or application direction/assistance.

  • would you be interested in earning free shields by having me come to your house show Jamberry off to your friends?
You can finish every call with these few sentences:

Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with me today. I truly appreciate your business.  Don’t hesitate to call me when you need anything. My phone number is________ and my Personal Web Site is ______________.

Always offer the option to place an order.

Don’t forget to check about future possibilities….

BOOKINGS AT THE SHOW

What you do before, during and after your shows will determine whether or not people want to book their own show.
Before

  • Arrive 30 minutes before so that you are all set up as guests arrive (BE ON TIME)
  • As guests arrive, chat with them.  Ask about them…..how they know the hostess, summer plans, things like that.  In my experience, THEY will start the Jamberry conversation with you and you can take it from there.
During

  • Thank your host (make her feel special and appreciated)
  • Mention the FREE shields the host will receive
  • If you create your own monthly host/guest specials, talk about them
  • BE ENTHUSIASTIC AND EXCITED ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND WHAT YOU DO
  • KISS - Keep it simple sweetie
  • Do something fun (game, drawing)
After

  • Find a spot to sit with 2 chairs to take orders and have each sit with you one-on-one to review her order
  • If they did not do buy 3 get one free, be sure to remind them of the special
  • Ask everyone “Can I talk you into some free sheets?” or “Did you know that if you collect just 5 orders, you will get at least one free sheet?”  or “Would you like to show Jamberry off to your friends?”  If you don’t ask you will not get the bookings.  DO NOT LOOK AT PRIZE SLIPS FOR WHAT THEY CHECKED.  DO NOT ONLY ASK THOSE THAT CHECKED YES OR MAYBE.  (See “Overcoming Objections” for words to say)
  • Get a date penciled in for home shows and opening/closing dates for catalog shows
  • Follow the same replies for Yes, No, and Maybe that you would from the phone call script.
  • If they are a firm no, ask them to be a part of your referral program.  Tell them “I do have a referral program that would still benefit you then.”  Briefly explain your program and hand them a referral packet. (Enrolling someone in your referral program is the next best thing to a booking.)
A great goal at every show is to at least double your business.  That means no less than two bookings per show.  If you ask everyone, you are bound to get at least that!  Think about it, would you like your paycheck to be twice what it is now?
OVERCOMING OBJECTIONS

No

No problem at all……I always like to make sure I offer the chance to everyone.  Just out of curiosity….is that No not ever…..or is it just not now?

  • so, is having a show in the future something you might like to do?
  • would you like me to explain how having a show works…and then you can better decide if it’s something you’d be interested in in the future?
Maybe, but not now

  • would sometime in the spring/fall  be better – we have a new catalog coming out in March/September….would you like me to touch base with you closer to that time?
I’m way too busy…..

  • No problem at all……..would sometime in the spring/fall  be better – we have a new catalog coming out in March/September….would you like me to touch base with you closer to that time?
Yes, but now right now – everyone is way too busy…..

  • I’m happy to hear that you want to have a show…..and certainly anytime is great.  Actually, this time of year might be worth considering…….
I do my shows during the week and find that my hosts get fantastic attendance because everyone is so social at this time of year.       Or

This time of year everyone seems more relaxed.  There’s no homework to worry about or early bed times.  It stays light longer which makes everyone feel less rushed.    Or

Everyone loves to show off their decorated homes and it’s a great time to socialize, plus this is a unique opportunity to socialize and shop at the same time.  A chance to sit down and shop from your seat not from your feet!        Or

I’ve been offering Sat. morning brunch/mimosa parties.  It’s a great way to start off the day!  You sleep in, bop in for something yummy, socialize a bit, and leave with cute nails with  the rest of your day free.

Yes, I’m not sure when… I need to check my calendar…

  • Fantastic, would something in _______________work?
  • I hold shows on ____________________(days of the week), is there a day of the week that you think might fit better with your schedule?  (share which dates you have open and try to get them to pencil one in)
  • I know how busy life gets….if I don’t hear from you in a few days, I’ll give you a quick call to firm it up
Maybe, let me ask my friends first…

  • You might find it easier for your friends if you bounce off a specific date and then they’ll be able to more easily answer you yes or no.  Normally people need to know an actual date before they answer Yes or No.  Is there a day of the week that fits your life better?  We could even roughly pencil in a date and then change it if we need to.
  • Can I give you some suggestions on what you might want to say to your friends?......Tell them you are having a brand new type of show where they get do their very own nail art that is as easy as using a hair dryer it….the more excited you are about having it…the more interested they will be to come….does that sound like something that would work for you?
  • I totally understand….of course you want to get a nice turn out…..So, if your friends were into it would hosting a show be something you would like to do?
(write your own response)

LEAD LIST OF 200

What type of call do you need to make to each person on your lead list?  Set a goal to make at least 5 calls a day.  Calls are generally quick and the one thing we all hate the most.  Nothing above is intrusive or annoying, especially the follow up calls.  You have a reason to call.  So, start with the Intro calls and the rest will be a breeze.  5 a day is not a lot and personal contact will yield better responses than email, text and Facebook.

Changing your Blogger Display Name

I've noticed that we don't always know how to make our blogger names display our real names.  Some people are stuck in the "Anonymous" zone.  If you want everyone to know you wrote your post, here's a tutorial on how to change your display name on the blog.
  1. Log into your blogger profile.
  2. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Click on Blogger profile
  4.  This will take you to your profile.  From this screen, choose "Edit Profile."
  5. At the bottom of the screen, change your name to whatever you'd like it to be.
  6. Scroll down to the bottom and click save profile.
Voila!  Your name has now been changed!

Party Games 1

So, I just found this website that is a treasure trove of ideas for members of at-home businesses.  I am not yet a member, but I'm seriously considering it, simply from these party ideas.  If the rest of their website is half as good as these game ideas, I think it'd be totally worth it.  I'm going to post their top ten party games here edited for Jamberry where necessary.
As a note, I always think that the best way to show people how great Jamberry shields are is to have them apply a quick coat of nail polish after they've tried their samples.  Then make them play games that use their hands.  After two or three games, their wet nail polish is ruined and their Jams are perfect.  You might consider using these games for that purpose.

Just a Phone Call Away

At the beginning of your party, have everyone get out their phone and hold them in their hand. You will have yours in your hand as well. Tell them this is the easiest game to win all night! *ha!*Ask everyone to dial in your number – call it out to them number by number – and then when you say GO – everyone hits call. Obviously your phone will ring since they are all calling you – simply answer the phone to find the “winner” on the line. Give her a little goody for having the “fastest fingers in the room” HA! THEN – while everyone still has their phone out, ask them to SAVE YOUR NUMBER with your first name and company – i.e. Lynsey Party Plan Divas, Su Passion Parties, Eliza Jewels by Parklane, etc. Tell them that they have your number forever now, and if they ever need anything, you are JUST A CALL AWAY – ask them to please put their phones on vibrate or silent to not disrupt the party, and then begin with your Party Presentation.

Drop the Shoe

This will get guests talking to each other and about your products. As each guest comes in, have each guest leave 1 shoe under their chair and put the other in the middle of the room. After everyone has arrived tell them to pick a shoe from the middle (not their own) and find the pair. Once they find it, have them find out what their favourite design is and 1 reason why they should book a party. Once they have done conversing, go around the room and have each person introduce their “shoe friend”. It will sound like this “This is Suzy’s Shoe, her favourite design is ______, and she should book a party because________.

Recruiting Rhyme

[There are no instructions for this, but it's cute]
If any selling you have done before, put down 10 to start your score.
If you have a car and are able to drive, the thing to do is just add 5.
If some extra money is what you would like, add 10 more which is just about right.
A little spare time will add to your score, for this you may add 15 more.
If you like people and think they are grand, add 6 more and see where you stand.
Add 10 points if you think parties are fun, and when you add this you are almost done.
If you score the highest, it is plain to see a Jamberry rep is what you should be.
Add 10 more if you want to be a Jamberry rep, like me!

The Alphabet Game

Write each letter of the alphabet on a 3×5 index card. Hold each card up like a “flash card” and give it to the person who yells out a word having to do with your business (product, opportunity, etc) that starts with the letter you held up! The person with the most cards at the end of the game wins! (I also give a gift to the person with the least)

Crossed Out

As your guests arrive, give every few people a small gift. (For example, you can give every 4th person a gift (or give out the gifts however you choose). As soon as everyone is sitting, tell the group about the “no crossing” rule. If a person holding a gift is caught crossing her legs, then she must relinquish her gift to the person who catches her crossing her legs. This game should be played for the first half of the party. At the halftime everyone who has a gift gets to open it. (If a person who already has a gift catches someone with a gift crossing her legs, she can either trade gifts with that person, or choose a person who is “gift less” to give the extra gift to).

Thread Intro

Pass a spool of thread around to your guests and tell them to take as much as they want. Tell them you want to get to know them a little. Tell each guest to talk about themselves as they wrap the thread around their forefinger. When they teach the end they can stop. Start with your hostess. Go around the room till everyone is introduced.

Pass the Prize

Have a wrapped prize ready for this fun game. Hand 1 person the gift and have them follow the instructions as you read them. The person who is holding the prize at the end is the winner! (Similar to the Left Right Game)

“You thought all the gifts were meant for you. But I have other items too.
So hold up this gift and look around, and give it to one with eyes of brown.
You think you are the lucky one, but let us all share in the fun!
Look around with eyes discreet, and give it to the one with the smallest feet.
Your feet are tiny and very small. Now hand it to someone very tall.
Please, take your time and don’t be harried. Give it to the one who is longest married.
You must be proud of your married life, now pass this on to the newest wife.
If this parcel you are bereft, give it to the one on your left.
The largest earring I’m looking for now, if you’re wearing them, step up with a bow.
Now to the person with buttons– big or small, any kind, the most you can find gets the gift at this time.
Now don’t get cross and please don’t fight, but pass it to the lady third on the right.
We should stop now, don’t you agree? The gift is yours to open and see.”

Replace Your Husband

An ice breaker game to play at the beginning of the party
Have each guest write down an item in their house they need to repair or replace. Then have them list 5 simple reasons they want to get rid of it. Now have them cross out the item and place their husband's name in that place. Go around the room and have each person read aloud “I want to replace (husband’s name) because he….(the 5 reasons). The funniest answers win.

The Lei Game

This is a great game to play in the warm months or a themed party. Also great if you are offering the Vacation Vouchers for your Hostesses! As you reward your hostess with a gift for inviting you into her home, also adorn her with 3 lei’s. Announce to the crowds that during your presentation if they want to book a party yell out loud “I wanna PARTY!” The hostess will give her one of the leis around her neck. Offer an incentive for the hostess to get 3 bookings and she will also encourage her friends to book a party with you.

Party BINGO

[Trying to figure out how to make this Jamberry friendly.  Please put your 2¢ in a comment.]
Give each guest a blank bingo card and you should have a bag or box filled with cards that have your demo products listed on each one. As you go through your presentation, have them randomly fill in the names of items you show on their card. After you have done with your presentation, draw 4 cards from your bag or box and call them out. For the 5th one say there are 2 free boxes, 1 for booking a party today with me and 1 for becoming a consultant today, please fill those squares in. continue to draw product cards till someone says BINGO.

Statement Nails

I saw this document on the Consultant page, but it didn't have the form she was referring to, so I made it.  Read this then download my document - it's genius!

The STATEMENT NAIL Principles for Events

By Debbie Bird on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 5:10pm
There is more to a 'Statement Nail' than just having a different nail on one finger. It is an attitude that is created with simple sales principles that have been created just for Professional Jamberry Consultants.

Imagine this...you are walking into an event, you smile at everyone, you make your set-up look extremely easy then the presentation of the Statement Nail begins. Walk to every single vendor there and their families, their kids, their husbands! and any other vendor volunteers. Give them a simple entry form to fill out for a door prize and let them know you will give them a free Jamberry Statement Nail wrap when they bring the entry form to your table.

One-You have just created traffic at your table because the majority of vendors will fill out the entry form and bring it to your table to register. For every action there is a reaction. People want to be a part of where the activity is. No one wants to feel left out. You are attracting people to your product. You are not selling it to them. You are making it easy for them to approach you and your product.

Two-The majority of vendors will be wearing a 'Statement Nail' and advertising for YOU to all the customers who walk by their table/booth. Think about the full impact of this. Imagine, you are the customer and are walking thru the event. You see a  make up vendor with a Jamberry wrap on her ring finger. The next  table sells homemade candles and you see a Jamberry wrap on her finger. The next table is jewelry and you see what??? Yep, a Jamberry wrap!!! The 'Statement Nail' is making a statement for YOU!

Three- The customer compliments the makeup vendor's  nail... then that vendor overhears the same customer complimenting the  candle vendor's nail...The vendor will often have several customers  compliment her nail and ask about it. They look over at the Jamberry  table..and there is someone there again putting on a sample and laughing  and having a good time. The vendor wants what we have. They want the  customers! They want to be the busy booth! They want to be having a good  time!

The number one reason I do events is for recruiting, number two is parties and three is sales.

When the vendor comes up and drops off her entry I have already  picked out a few nails to match her outfit or her product. For the  vendors I pull out my personal stock of leftover shields. I may have to  cut down a larger toe shield for the leopard print the Mary Kay gal is wearing but I want it on her! She wants it on her! ALWAYS have the Statement Nail on the blingiest ring finger! It makes the wrap look better and it will draw more attention.

If I have a few moments I will purpose to take certain designs to  certain vendors. Several of our designs match other direct sales  patterns/colors/themes. When you walk up to the Pink Zebra lady with a pink zebra and simply say, "I saw this Pink Zebra pattern and thought this has you written all over it" she will have to agree. I don't try to sell her. I attract her. I let her know "I have one left in stock. Be sure bring your entry form over so you can have the chance to win it if I haven't sold it". Period. I walk away, after all, I am busy and don't have time except for her! I am busy with my Jamberry tho' she is  special. I want her to feel special. I don't have 3-4 sheets in my hand going to different tables. I will carry that one shield back, put it back out on display with my door prize. When she comes to enter for the door prize I let her know that the door prize is _____ and _____ plus a FREE sheet of nails. SHE SEES HER NAILS there...OMG! she doesn't want someone else winning her nails. I quietly let her know  that all the display sheets are for sale. Most of the time, they buy it!

Attract people to your table. Create the energy. Most of all, don't sit at your table on your phone facebooking or playing games. That is not attractive to possible recruits. They don't want to sign up to sit and play games or text or eat...that is what they are doing now! LOL. Very very very rarely do I ever sit. I am up straightening my table, networking working with other vendors, taking pictures of the statement nails, joking, laughing, attracting attention to my action! No action gets no reaction!

With every statement nail use the words 'easy', 'simple', 'fun'! That attracts recruits! Compliment the statement they are making. Compliment their ring. Get to know them by asking about them. Get them talking about themselves. Let them know you care. Recruits want to be cared about. I want to be cared about. So do you. So care about them. Giving them a Statement Nail is caring!

How to make sample business cards with clear envelopes

One of my favourite things that I do was actually an idea I saw online and took to the next level.  The concept for the cards below came from the first sample packets I saw created on the Jamberry consultant page.  I thought they were great, but a little too bulky for my everyday life.  See, in my opinion, just telling someone about your product isn't always enough, I like to have the option of giving her a sample.
If you break it down, a sample costs you 10¢, but its earning potential is limitless.  When you give a woman a sample instead of just a business card, you're giving her the opportunity to see how great your product really is.
Also, though I've seen them used with success, I don't really like sample business cards that don't have some kind of container.   My purse has a tendency to rip items apart, even if I'm being really careful.  Using clear envelopes are my way of being able to reach in for a business card before my target says no!
So now that you know my reasons, here are my tips and tricks for making the perfect tiny sample kits.

You will need 4 groups of items before you start:
  1. Business Cards.  If you're out, click that link up top and order more!
  2. Sample Cards.  Ditto, but go to your workstation.
  3. Clear Plastic envelopes.  You're going to want to go to your local craft store and find plastic envelopes that measure 2" x 3".  My personal favourite are the self-sealing envelopes, but you can use non-sealing treat bags, or zipper bags - whatever works best for you!  I'll have some suggestions for these products at the bottom.
  4. Business Card-sized Instructions.  I spent a long time making these work.  Just click this link and download the document for yourself.
From this point, you're set to go.  I make myself four piles - one of each of the items I just listed.  For my sample cards, I cut each sample into a Ziploc bag and shake it up so that my distribution is random.  (I do this for party kits too.)  I also spend the worst 10 minutes of this project cutting apart my instruction sheet.  Still totally worth it.  Okay, here's how to put it all together:
  • Line your business card and instruction sheet up so that the instructions are pointing to the back of your business card.  It should look like the instructions are the back of your business card.  Slip them into your envelope like they're one unit.
  • Put a sample in the front of the envelope (the side with your name) and make sure you can see the pattern.
  • Seal the envelope.
1, 2, 3 it's done!  I usually spend about an hour making 100 of these.

Can't find clear envelopes?  Here are some suggestions:
I found them at Jo-Ann Etc near the scrapbooking supplies.  They came 120 to a package.
Cardblanks.com has these for sale in both Canada and the U.S.  The B6 size is what you're looking for.
As always, Amazon has them, but not having used them, I can't say whether the 2 in x 3 in or the 2 3/4 in x 3 3/4 in will work best
Where do you find your clear envelopes?
